The 2026 Brick Block Arts & Heritage Festival was our largest and most successful festival yet, and it would not have been possible without the many hands, hearts, and helping spirits behind it.

A very special thank-you to our incredible Tuesday Crew! These hardworking volunteers spent countless hours preparing the Armstrong Brick Block and downtown spaces for the festival—and then helped with setup, cleanup, and whatever else needed to be done. Their dedication reaches far beyond one festival weekend, and so much of what visitors experienced was possible because of their year-round work.

Thank-you to our volunteers, Johnsonburg Community Trust board members, sponsors, community partners, downtown businesses, vendors, artists, artisans, musicians, performers, exhibitors, food vendors, car show participants, and everyone who helped with planning, setup, cleanup, transportation, and all those countless details that happen behind the scenes.

And, of course, thank-you to everyone who came downtown to celebrate with us! Seeing Market Street filled with neighbors, alumni, families, visitors, music, food, art, history, laughter, and hometown pride was truly something special.

You helped make this festival more than an event—you made it a celebration of Johnsonburg and the spirit of the Pennsylvania Wilds. We are incredibly grateful to every person who played a part in its success!

A New Beginning for the Historic Armstrong Brick Block, Marking an Exciting Chapter in Its Storied Legacy

Thank-you, West Penn Energy Fund!

The West Penn Energy Fund has generously donated a total of $155,000 to support energy improvements and replace windows in the historic Armstrong Brick Block. This significant funding will specifically help replace windows on the Bridge Street side, the first courtyard along the back alley, the second-floor windows facing Market Street, as well as the back alley windows on both the first and second floors of the first unit. Upgrading the windows in the first unit, which houses the Heritage-Education & Welcome Center, will mark the beginning of many more revitalization projects aimed at enhancing the Commercial Historic District in downtown Johnsonburg. This initiative is an important step forward in preserving the character and sustainability of our historic downtown area.

The HEWC has recently celebrated its first anniversary, marking a significant milestone in its journey. The Center’s remarkable achievements in fostering deeper community engagement, preserving important local heritage, and promoting both education and economic opportunities in Johnsonburg have truly been a wonderful and impactful addition to the town. Over the course of the center's inaugural year, it has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to serving the community, successfully creating a vibrant and inclusive space that honors and celebrates the unique character and rich heritage of Johnsonburg.

Since the grand opening of the HEWC alongside Kay & Rose Bakery in 2024, our dedicated volunteers have been working diligently to prepare unit 3 and now on unit 6. Unit 6 is being built out to be Clarion River Outdoors LLC! We are so excited for what this will bring for the town and the region. The advancement of these projects can largely be credited to the tireless efforts of our amazing volunteer group, affectionately known as the "Tuesday Crew." This dedicated team is composed primarily of retired school teachers and other local residents who generously contribute their time, skills, and expertise every single Tuesday. We are incredibly grateful for their invaluable contributions and their unwavering support, which continue to drive the success of our initiatives.
